Now.

Then.

The mobile coolship.

Our mobile coolship, the UK’s first purpose built vehicular coolship, travels the UK capturing wild yeast and bacteria that naturally occur all around us - and creating beer from this. Every beer is a living record of the area we visit - and the friends we make along the way.

That's why we're operating as table service only for the foreseeable. But don't fret, we're taking bookings online via our site, welcoming walk-ins where occupancy allows, and still doing takeaways too.

Safety measures mean a slightly different feel to The Barrel Project - but we're still serving up the same awesome fresh draft with a smile. Bringing together, cold pint in hand.

Next up in our barrel aged showcase of draft beers Next up in our barrel aged showcase of draft beers exclusively available under our arch - Motueka Kaupeka, a dry hopped mixed fermented Saison.

A 3 barrel blend of blonde mixed ferm base saisons selected for their moreish acidity and creamy malt base. These barrels were moved to a stainless steel tank and dry hopped with 7g/L of Motueka before being packaged and naturally carbonated in bottle.

The base acidity paired with the fresh hop oils from the Motueka give this beer an aroma of fresh spring flowers and orange citrus fruits. The flavour is dominated by bright orange citrus upfront with hints of vanilla and finishes with a creamy marmalade sweetness.

Find it from Saturday.

Beer 3 in our showcase of Barrel Project beers is Beer 3 in our showcase of Barrel Project beers is Simple Complication, a mixed fermentation small saison - and brewery favourite.

A low ABV tart saison, brewed and blended with the intention of combining the drinkability of traditional low alcohol saisons with the complexity of an extended maturation with our house culture of wild yeast and bacteria.

This beer is a blend of three barrels with an average maturation time of 12 months in oak before receiving a restrained dry hopping of Hallertau Blanc prior to packaging. The aroma is pure lemongrass and lime pith, with a palate that's creamy with notes of lychee, reisling, and vanilla before finishing dry, oaky and refreshing.

Pouring exclusively on our taps from Saturday. Book your table through the website now.

Continuing our showcase of Barrel Project beers, w Continuing our showcase of Barrel Project beers, we have a new-to-draft release: Reburied - a second use blackberry and blueberry saison.

A mixed fermentation saison, this was refermented on spent blackberries and blueberries for 6 months. The spent fruit offers a different character after first use, more subtle and complimentary to the beer without becoming the focus of it.

This beer was aged in Bordeaux ex-red wine barrel - adding depth of berry and oak characteristics behind a restrained fruit flavour. Presenting rosé-like in colour, Brett forward, with a soft acidity. It is the perfect summertime refresher, with a vinous sorbet-like quality that sits it beautifully between the range.

Look forward to this one exclusively from our taps Saturday 4th July.

We're back and we have some incredible beers to sh We're back and we have some incredible beers to share with you.

We'll be running through the awesome and unique beers you can expect on draft when we reopen. With 12 full lines of barrel aged, wild, and spontaneous beers - including 6 NEW RELEASES - it's going to be a ride.

It feels apt to start by looking at Skin Contact, a mixed fermentation saison refermented on chardonnay grapes.

A blend of blonde mixed ferm saison re-fermented on 300g/L of fresh whole bunch Chardonnay from Kent. We let the grapes carbonically macerate (breakdown and begin fermentation) for 2 weeks before racking barrel aged tart saison on top of the fruit and juice.

The combined microbes then fermented the available sugar for 3 months before we moved the liquid to be naturally carbonated in package. The aroma is a bright blend of pineapple and green grape, while the flavour starts off crisp like fresh cider apples and fades into lingering vanilla and oak, reminiscent of oaky Australian Chardonnay.

Available exclusively from our taps Saturday 4th July.
